William "Bill" H. Reineke

William H. “Bill” Reineke, age 79, resident of Lakota, ND, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND.

Bill was born May 25, 1940 to William and Olga (Hamre) Reineke.  He attended school in Michigan and graduated from Lakota High School.  He then attended Aaker’s Business School in Grand Forks, ND.  Bill worked for local farmers, who always knew which fields he had worked because the rows were noticeably straight.  He could talk for hours about farming and tractors, and loved to learn about new innovations and technologies on the topics.  He also drove school bus for many years.

Bill enjoyed music, movies, TV, and reading anything he could get his hands on, especially Western books.  Bill could hear one note of an old country song and would know the title and could sing along.  He loved watching his children play sports, he and his wife never missed a game, and then later took pride in his grandchildren’s participation in sports and other activities.  Getting The Hoopster Book (North Dakota Basketball Preview) each year was a must, so he could follow Class B Basketball all season.

Survivors included his wife, Hildegarde (Nelson) Reineke, Fargo, ND; 4 children, Sara (Patrick) Pylant, Fort Worth, TX, Shane (Beth Keehner), Dunlap, IA, Nathan (Katie Boe), Horace, ND, and Naomi (Dan) Ferguson, Lakota, ND; 12 grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Darrel) Hertel, Jud, ND; brother, Gordon Reineke, Monticello, MN; sisters-in-law, Evie (Richard) Reineke, Waco, TX and Judy (Gerald) Reineke, Fargo, ND; aunts, Rosie Anderson, Grand Forks, ND and Janette Moen, Michigan, ND; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Gerald; and sister-in-law, Karen (Gordon) Reineke.

The Funeral Service for Bill will be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church, Michigan, ND, on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.  A graveside service will be held at the Michigan Cemetery in the spring.  Visitation will be held at the Church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
