Roger L Johnson

Roger Johnson, 79, of Tolna, ND died Monday, June 10, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society, Lakota, ND.

Roger L. Johnson was born September 27, 1939 to Robert and Ruth (Ensrude) Johnson in McVille, ND.  He grew up on the family farm in rural Tolna, ND and graduated from Tolna High School.  He farmed for many years.  Roger married his wife, Phoebe, in 1970.  They are parents of their daughter Andrea. 

Roger served on the Leval Township Board of Directors, Hamar Elevator Board, Tolna Farmers Union Oil Company Board, North Dakota Soy Bean Council, Tolna Cemetery Board, many years on the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District Board of Directors, and was also a long-time volunteer firefighter.  Roger enjoyed fishing, wood-working, bird watching, tinkering with his lawn tractors, crossword puzzles, and sudoku.  He also loved to spend time with his family and friends. 

Roger is survived by his wife Phoebe, daughter Andrea (Jason), grandchildren Cadence, Addison, and Parker, sister Sandra, brother-in-law Lincoln, nephews Peter, Christopher, Alex, Andy, Evan, David, and Gavin, nieces Kameo (Fernando), Michelle (Nick), Jody (Jeff), Phoebe (Kevin), Christy, Elizabeth (Bob), Julia, Jessica (Tom), Nicole, Madelyn, Amara, and Ellena, and his best pal Buddy.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sisters-in-law, Leora, Jackie, and Kathi, brothers-in-law Wallace, Michael, and Ray, and nephews Douglas, Dale, and David. 

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church, Tolna, ND.  Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2019 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 at American Lutheran Church, Tolna, ND.
