1SG Robert Michael Mosholder, U.S. Army, (Ret.), 49, died March 20, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born February 28, 1972 in Cooperstown, North Dakota to Earl William and Colleen (Young Bear) Mosholder.
Robert’s life was his military service. He completed three tours in Iraq; one in Afghanistan and was stationed twice in Korea. Robert received numerous awards, including a Bronze Star Medal for heroism. After twenty-two years of serving his country, Robert retired from the Army with the rank of First Sergeant in Colorado Springs.
He loved Harley Davidson’s and riding motorcycles.
Robert is the great-great-grandson of Chief Two Bears of the Lakota Tribe (Sioux Nation).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl William and Colleen (Young Bear) Mosholder, brothers, Mark and Kevin, step brother Dave Mosholder and step sister Anna Young Bear.
Robert is survived by his brother Chuck (Marion) Mosholder of Hannaford, North Dakota, niece Sandy (Nicole) of St. Louis, Missouri, nephews Chris (Emily) of Greeley, Colorado, and Shaun (Alissa) of Hannaford, ND. He is also survived by his brother Ron (Tracy) Mosholder of Newport News, Virginia, niece Amber Mosholder of Converse, Texas, and nephews Nathan and Noa also of Newport News.
Robert is also survived by his step brothers Don Young Bear of Bismarck, North Dakota, Ken Mosholder of Floral City, Florida, and step sister Vicki Lange of Otis Orchards, Washington, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hannaford, ND. Interment and military honors will be observed at Faith Cemetery, Hannaford following the funeral service.
Masks are required in the church.
