Orin Lee Slettebak

Orin Lee Slettebak, 62, of rural Michigan, ND, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle against cancer. 

A celebration of Orin’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Petersburg Lutheran Church, Petersburg, ND. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Petersburg Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Orin was born on August 11, 1959 to Oris and Carol (Gilbertson) Slettebak in Northwood, ND. He grew up near Petersburg, ND graduating from Unity High School in 1977. After high school, Orin worked at North East Grain in Petersburg, ND. On May 15, 1993 Orin was united in marriage to Darlene Greshik at Petersburg Lutheran Church, and together had two children, Kimberley and Andrew. After getting married, Orin and Darlene lived in Niagara, ND where Orin worked at Sheyenne Valley Grain. In 1994 the family moved to Aneta, ND. From 1995-2007 Orin began custom harvesting with his wife and in laws. The family moved to a farm near Michigan, ND in 1997 where Orin later worked at Michigan Implement/Leading Edge Equipment for 21 years until retiring in 2021. 

Orin had a love for woodworking. He was always happy to try and make almost whatever anyone requested. Orin was usually found working in their large garden with his wife or working around the farm. Orin enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He was very proud of his wife and children. 

Orin is survived by his wife of 29 years, Darlene Slettebak, Michigan, ND ; children, Kimberley (Steven) Slettebak, Finley, ND and Andrew Slettebak, Petersburg, ND; brother, Scott (Terry) Slettebak, Petersburg, ND; sisters, Carla (Dean) Venske, Northwood, ND, Tami (Scott) Adolphsen, Breezy Point, MN, Vicki (Dennis) Best, Fordville, ND, Shelli (Wade) Crowe, Alexandria, MN, and DeAnn (Tim) Buckhouse, Barnesville, MN; mother-in-law, Adeline Greshik; sisters-in-law, Dawn (Patrick) Brown, Dianne (Patrick) Barrette, and Angie Greshik; brothers-in-law, Jim (Danelle) Greshik, and Tim (Kylie) Greshik. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oris and Carol; grandparents, Andrew and Olea Slettebak; and father-in-law, Dennis Greshik.
