Nancy K. Freije

Nancy K. Freije, age 69, resident of Edmore, ND, died Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood, ND.

Nancy Kay Freije was born July 10, 1954 in Edmore, ND, the daughter of Alfred and Shirley (Dahlen) Freije.  She was raised and attended school there, graduating from Edmore High School.  Nancy married Dale Schonauer on November 26, 1983.  They made their home in Edmore, where Nancy raised their family.  Nancy and Dale later divorced but continued their friendship until the end.  Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening and canning, as well as socializing with friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Over the years, Nancy cared for several family and friends while living in Edmore as well.

Nancy will be greatly missed by Dale; her 2 children, Jeremy Schonauer and Nicole Vitek (Jason Glick), both of Northwood, ND; 3 grandchildren, Brayden Glick, Skylynn Vitek, and Locklen Vitek; 2 brothers, Steve (Becky) Freije of Fargo, ND and Corey Freije of Minneapolis, MN; and a grand-dog, Crowley.

Nancy tolerated her children and adored her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a time of sharing with family and friends at the Aaker Funeral Home in Lakota, ND, on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
