May E. Thompson

May E. Thompson, age 104, resident of Michigan, ND, died Monday, October 2, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

May Eleanor Paulson was born May 19, 1919 near Michigan, ND, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Bonde) Paulson.  As a young girl, the family moved into Michigan.  She was raised and educated there, graduating from Michigan High School.  May married Clair L. Thompson on September 17, 1940 at Petersburg, ND.  They lived in Michigan, where May raised their family and cared for their home.  She lived her entire adult life in Michigan.  Clair died November 7, 1986.  May continued living in her home until the time of her death.

May is survived by a son, Stephen Thompson and a daughter, Christie Alme, both of Michigan, ND; 2 grandsons, Bob Thompson and Ron Thompson; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair; son, David; 2 brothers, Kermit Paulson and Bud Paulson; and 2 sisters, Clara Kallestad and Pearl Dennis.

A graveside service will be held at the Michigan Cemetery, Michigan, ND, on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
