Obituary

Mary Ann Daws, age 88, resident of Michigan, ND, peacefully gained her wings surrounded by her family on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the NCHS Hospital in McVille, ND.

Mary Ann Beverly Frost was born March 5, 1934 on a farm near Whitman, ND, the daughter of Roy and Clara (Dahlen) Frost.  She was raised on the family farm and attended 8 years at the Whitman Public School.  She then attended Michigan High School, graduating with the class of 1952.  Mary Ann married James R. Daws on November 28, 1955 and they farmed near Michigan for many years.  Mary Ann drove bus for Michigan and Dakota Prairie Public Schools for 35 years.  She also enjoyed working as a housekeeper for a few years at the Good Samaritan Center in Lakota.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Michigan and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lakota.  Mary Ann and Jim were married 61 years at the time of his passing on April 29, 2017.  Mary Ann loved attending any event that involved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She and Jim enjoyed curling and traveled to many bonspiels.  She also enjoyed Bunco, Bingo, and bowling.  She bowled for many years and started again last fall.  This Spring she attended the ND State Bowling Tournament.

Mary Ann will be dearly missed by her 6 children, Alana Fagot of Apple Valley, MN, Natalie Daws-Martinez (Tomas) of Albuquerque, NM, Lynn (Tony) Lamb and Elizabeth “Tess” (Randy) Severson, both of Michigan, ND, Reed Daws and Charles Daws, both of Larimore, ND; 13 grandchildren, Benjamin (Katie), Menard, Antonio (Candis), Carlos (Julieanne), Phillip (Amy), Jake (Julie), Kyle, Jill (Garrett), T.J. (Leticia), Ross, Brooke (Dylan), Jack, and Ivy; 14 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Apollo, Aurora, Luca, Mila, Wyatt, Easton, Evelynn, Jax, Elle, Avery, Finley, Kai, and Kajsa; 4 siblings, Katherine Holtman of East Grand Forks, MN, Dennis Frost of Turner, OR, Jack Frost of Mesa, AZ, and Sharon (Milt) Skjervem of Michigan, ND; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; grandson, Alexander James Fagot; son-in-law, Wayne Fagot; sister, Dorothy Voiss; brother, Dean Frost; and infant sister, Donna.

There will be a public visitation at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The graveside service for Mary Ann will be private at the Michigan Cemetery.
