Marilyn J. Rustad

Marilyn J. Rustad, age 90, resident of Aneta, ND, died Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the NCHS Care Center in McVille, ND.

Marilyn Jean was born October 9, 1932 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Marcus and Ethel (Bruce) Long.  She was raised on a farm near Aneta and graduated from Aneta High School.  She lived in Aneta and the surrounding area all of her life.  She began her career as a bookkeeper at the Finley Elevator.  She then worked as a bank teller in Aneta for many years and happened to be working during 2 bank robberies, while simultaneously serving as the business administrator at the Aneta school for many of those years.  Marilyn enjoyed the outdoors, caring for her animals, and working in the yard.  She was a member of the Lenora Homemakers Club, and a lifelong member of the Aneta Community Church, as the church was very important to her.

Marilyn is survived by a niece, Judy Rusten of Aneta; a nephew, Jack (Kathy) Egeland of Aurora, TX; 5 great nieces & nephews, Angie (Stuart) Gullicks of Finley, ND, Scott Rusten of Aneta, Tim (Jennifer) Rusten of Aneta, Kitty (Jeremiah) Filion of Aurora, TX, and Kimberly (Daniel) Meysembourg of Gem Lake, MN; and many great-great nieces & nephews.

The Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held at the Aneta Community Church, Aneta, ND, on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the spring at Silent Hill Cemetery, rural Aneta.  Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
