Jeannette Evensen

Jeannette Evensen, age 94, of Fargo, ND died Friday, December 13, 2019 at Pioneer House in Fargo, ND.

Jeannette was born March 17, 1925 the daughter of John and Lazetta (Klemstein) Lyman at home near Grace City, ND.  She grew up in the area and graduated from Grace City High School.  After school she worked for Bell Telephone in St. Paul, MN until the family moved to Chicago.  Jeannette didn’t want to move to Chicago, so she came home and worked for her aunt Laura Gauderman until she married Wilbert Luttschwager on January 3, 1947.  In 1964 she began working at Aarestad’s Grocery in McHenry, ND until 1974 when she moved to Binford.  Wilbert passed away in 1973.  Jeanette married Robert Evensen May 23, 1974.  Robert passed away in 2010.

Jeannette was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway.  She was also active in American Legion Auxiliary.   

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wilbert and Robert, daughters Sandra and Raeleen, brother Harvey Lyman, and sisters Marilyn Swart and Donna Rodacker.

Jeannette is survived by her daughter Dee (Erling) Rolfson, grandchildren Jeremy (Sarah), Chris (Laura), Matt (Angela), and Mike Hjelseth, great grandchildren Jordan, Austin, Michaela, Logan, Autumn, and Olivia Hjelseth, and brother Roger (Diane) Lyman.  

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Binford, ND with visitation an hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Binford Cemetery in the Spring.
