Howard H. Luehring

Howard H. Luehring, age 88, resident of Tolna, ND, died Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Howard was born October 24, 1934 in Bottineau, ND, the son of Fred and Alma (Klipp) Luehring.  Howard received his elementary education at a country school near Bottineau.  His family later moved to Tolna, ND, where he graduated high school in 1953.  Howard enjoyed basketball, baseball, hunting, playing cards, and hanging out with good friends.  After high school Howard worked on the farm and other jobs before starting his own business, Luehring Oil, where he delivered fuel and oil products to farmers and other residents throughout the surrounding community.  Howard married Marlene (Callisto) on June 19, 1971 in Crosby, MN.

Howard will be missed and remembered by his wife, Marlene; son, Michael (Michelle); grandchildren, Alexis and Andrew; along with several nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Alma; step mother, Emma; and siblings, Gladys, Mildred, Alice, Harvey, Willard, Wayne, and Edgar.

Arrangements are pending for a service to be held in the spring of 2023 at the American Lutheran Church in Tolna, ND.
