Gale I. Stahl

Gale Irene (Olsgaard) Stahl passed away on February 5, 2021 in Grand Forks, ND.  She was born on June 20, 1940 to Oren & Elizabeth Olsgaard in Billings, MT.  With the passing of her father in 1946, she was raised in Binford, ND, graduating high school there as Salutatorian.  She continued her education, graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in Education, teaching at elementary schools Carl Ben Eielson, at the Grand Forks Air Force Base, and at Viking Elementary from the mid 1960's to mid 1970's.

On June 25th, 1960 Gale married the love of her life, Allen.  Each were raised in rural North Dakota, settling in Grand Forks in the early 1960's.  Their dedication & support of each other, raising 2 boys Michael & Mark, building a home & life long friendships, over 53 years of marriage, was truly a testament to their dedication to each other, their family, and the fruitful, happy life they built & enjoyed, together.

Gale's interests & talents were varied, including quilting with period-based fabrics, designing the family log cabin on Juggler Lake, MN, and supporting UND Hockey as a season ticket holder, together with husband Allen, for over 40 years.  But her greatest passion was the literary collecting & reading of books, from the time she was a small child.  She amassed a personal library of hundreds, and could recall almost all.

Gale is survived by her brother, Orin; sister-in-law, Bonnie; nephew, Paul; nieces, Rachel & Ingrid Olsgaard; son, Michael & his wife Nannette; son, Mark & his wife Theresa; grandchildren, Katie, Max, Rose, and Jesse; great grandchildren, Elijah & Gillian; brother-in-law, Lynn & his wife Nancy Stahl; nieces, Christine Ellis & Stephanie Morris; and nephew, Michael Stahl.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen; parents, Oren & Elizabeth; and brother, Myron Olsgaard.

Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home, 116 C Avenue West, in Lakota, ND, on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Remembrance Service at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be in the spring at St. John Ottofy Catholic Cemetery, rural Pekin, ND.
