Elmer Sateren

Elmer Dale Sateren passed away peacefully at Sanford Hospital in Fargo on February 3rd, 2021 surrounded by his family.  He was 83.

Elmer Dale was born August 23, 1937 in McVille, ND to Elmer Milton and Irene Sateren.  Elmer Dale started working on the family farm at an early age before joining the US Army in 1958.  Elmer Dale traveled to many places including Vietnam and Germany where he met his wife Erika.  After 7 years of service, he left and went back home to the family farm, which was his first love, and continued to work on the farm until his retirement.  Elmer enjoyed fishing, playing cards, his coffee club and his grandchildren.  

Elmer Dale is preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, sister and brother-in-law Dale and Darlene Quanbeck and brother Dennis Sateren.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kayte and Duane Avdem, son and daughter-in-law Erik and Shanshan Sateren, his grand children Emily, Rachel, Olivia, Jasmine, Liliath and Alexander.  His brothers Stanley and his wife Linda Sateren and Ryan and his wife Linda Sateren, along with his sister-in-law Debbie Sateren the wife to Dennis Sateren.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND.

A graveside service will be held in spring at Center Cemetery, McVille, ND.
