Doris Helen Dakken

Doris Helen Dakken, age 86, resident of Tolna, ND died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Nelson County Health System – Care Center in McVille, ND.

Doris was born September 25, 1931 at home in the Tolna area to Julius and Magna (Urvand) Anderson.  She grew up and attended school in Tolna.  Doris married Reuben Dakken July 6, 1953.  The couple made their home in Tolna where Doris worked for the Gamble Hardware store and later the grocery store.  She loved to bake and cook.  

Doris is survived by her son Ronnie Dakken of Tolna, ND, her pride and joy Dana and Devin Fitcher, sister Junis (Art) McMahon, Corona De Tucson, AZ, brother Myron (Bernie) Anderson, Battle Lake, MN, sisters-in-law Joan Anderson of West Fargo, ND and Betty Dakken of McVille, ND, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step father Omar Fitcher, sister Leanna, brothers Lloyd, Russell, Roar, Harold and Raymond.

Graveside services for Doris will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bergen Cemetery, rural Tolna, ND.  Officiating will be Reverend Alex Waters.
