Darrel E. Nash

Darrel Everett Nash was born December 5, 1947 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Everett and Selma (Tveito) Nash.  He was raised and attended school in Lawton and graduated from Edmore High School in 1965.  After high school Darrel worked various jobs in multiple states until returning home to Lawton. 

Darrel married Laura Arthurs and raised 4 children together, Valorie, Scott, John, and Adam.  Darrel married Kathy Danielson in July of 1997.  In 1987 Darrel began working as the custodian and maintenance at the Edmore Public School; he did this for over 26 years until his retirement.  Working at the school was a highlight as he took great pride in caring for the school and all of “his kids”.  He also had a passion and enjoyed collecting and working on cars and spending time on the farm.

Darrel will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy Nash of Lawton; 4 children, Valorie (Chad) Carlson of Devils Lake, ND, Scott (Kim) Nash of Grand Forks, ND, John (Cindy) Nash and Adam (Jennifer) Nash, both of Devils Lake; 3 step-children, Jennifer (Keith) Hiedemen of Alice, ND, Annell Alger of Sheldon, ND, and Beth Waxler of Grand Forks; 14 grandchildren, Brandon (Jordan) Myhre, Nathan Myhre, Cameron Carlson, Jordan Skadsem, Mara Nash, Emma Nash, Abigail Nash, Kynlie Nash, Chris Hiedemen, Jeff Hiedemen, Ben Alger, Claire Alger, Lexia Waxler, and Lillianna Waxler; 1 great granddaughter, Thea Myhre; 1 sister, Lonnie (David) Larson of Buffalo, ND; 2 nieces, Ember (Aaron) Disrud and their sons Niklas & Isaak, and Kameri Larson; as well as many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 grandchildren, Caleb Nash, Matthew Nash, and Lyvia Waxler; 2 uncles, Thor Tveito and Olaf Tveito; and 1 aunt, Myrtle Anderson.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Lawton Lutheran Church, Lawton, ND, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the spring at the Petersburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Sunshine House or Lawton Lutheran Church.
