Charles "Chuck" S. Larson

Charles S. “Chuck” Larson, age 59, resident of McVille, ND, died Friday, October 28, 2022 at the NCHS Hospital in McVille, the same hospital in which he was born.

Charles was born December 8, 1962, the son of Severin and Betty (Wagner) Larson.  He grew up on the family farm near McVille.  He attended school in McVille and also a Vo-Ag class in Cooperstown that taught him how to weld (at which he excelled), graduating from McVille High School in 1981.  Chuck, along with his dad and brother, built a pig barn from the ground up, even pouring the concrete.  He attended college at the University of Minnesota Crookston; which is where he met his wife, Scotti.  They were married on November 24, 1982.  Chuck graduated in 1983 with a degree in Animal Science.  They moved to McVille where they farmed and raised pigs (and daughters).  Chuck also worked as a CNA & CMA in the area.  He also worked at the cabinet shop, was a welder for many years, and a Jack of all trades.  Willing to help anyone out with a project.  Chuck pumped septic tanks for many years.  The back of his truck held a sign that read “Back off, I’m not hauling milk”.  He was active with the McVille Ambulance as an EMT for about 20 years, and active with the McVille Fire Department for even more.  As a fireman he taught CPR, auto extrication, and volunteered to help at the Farm Safety Day Camp for 16 years.  He thoroughly enjoyed his Firemen and EMT co-workers as extended family.

Chuck will be deeply missed by his wife, Scotti; 3 daughters, Erin Larson (significant other, Earl) of McVille, Danielle (Elijah) Bjorlie of Tolna, ND, and Kelly Larson of McVille; 3 grandchildren, Hayley, Harley, and Iver; step-granddaughter Abigail Bjorlie; a brother, Tom Larson of McVille; 2 sisters-in-law, Cheryl Thompson of Hettinger, ND and Shelly (Dennis) Clontz of Belle Fourche, SD; a brother-in-law, Don (Michele) Thompson of Hettinger, ND; 2 aunts, Carol Elkins of McVille and Becky (Ron) Prasek of Minneapolis, MN; 3 uncles, Bob (Marcia) Wagner of Littleton, CO, Bill (Leone) Wagner of Hazen, ND, and Dave (Tom) Wagner of Florida; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dawn Becherl; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger & Phyllis Thompson.

The Memorial Service will be held at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND, on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
