Beverly "Bev" Bergquist Obituary

Beverly “Bev” Bergquist, a resident of Lakota, ND, passed away on April 19, 2023.  Born on May 17, 1958 in North Dakota, she was the daughter of Harold Bergquist and Audrey (Eriksmoen) Bergquist.

Bev graduated from Burnsville High School in Minnesota and attended the University of North Dakota, with a concentration in Communications, and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.  For many years she worked in the travel industry, and later developed a business producing specially designed container plant gardens.

Bev also lived in New York and California where she worked in hospitality and design.  She was a creative decorator, and assisted many colleagues, family members and friends with restoration, remodeling, and design.

Bev was the guardian of many beloved cats in her lifetime and loved horses.  And she was an amazing gardener and neighbor, often seen camping with her friends.  Bev will be missed for her unfailing generosity, warm and caring personality, bright smile, and zeal for life.  She was devoted to Aubrey, Melissa, and Michael, who she considered her grandchildren, and was especially grateful for the support and love she received daily these last years from her uncle, Donald Bergquist, and her wonderful neighbors, Dan and Sara, Sharon, Janie, and Marilyn and their families.

Bev is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathy and brother John, and her uncle Bob.  She is survived by her brother David Bergquist (Nick Trunzo) of California, brother Andrew Bergquist of Bismarck, stepmother Susan Bergquist of Minnesota, as well as many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and devoted friends.

Services for Bev will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 4:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, Bev’s family requests that donations be made to the Circle of Friends Animal Shelter in Grand Forks, North Dakota (www.cofpets.com).
