Alvin B Eslinger

Alvin B. Eslinger, age 83, resident of Hannaford, ND passed away December 31, 2019 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND.

Alvin was born August 24, 1936 in Garrison, ND to David and Lydia (Hofer) Eslinger.  Alvin entered the United States Army in 1958 and trained in Fort Benning, GA.  He served in Germany until his discharge in 1960.  On December 31, 1961 Alvin went to California and worked with his brothers for 2 years.  Alvin returned home in 1963 and did carpentry work and moved buildings.  He then started at Melroe in 1968 and worked until they closed in 1978.  He started working with Ellefson Excavating in 1980  and later started farming.  Alvin married Nadine Pratt July 5th, 1982.    

Surviving members of the family are his wife Nadine Eslinger of Hannaford, ND, children Lisa (Greg) Kees of Moorhead, MN and Franklin (Denise) Eslinger of Hannaford, ND, Sharon (George) Maertens of Cooperstown, ND, Laurie Knutson of Glyndon, MN, Rhonda Gaden of Fargo, ND, Dawn Kirby of Fargo, ND; 28 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brothers Art, Elmer, Bernhard and Albert; sisters Hilda Palm and Lorraine Burgum.

Preceded in death by his parents, his sister Leona Severson, brothers Emil, Lloyd and Ruben.

Funeral services for Alvin will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford, ND.  Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.  Spring interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
