Uncle Hal E. Ensrud

Uncle Hal E. Ensrud, age 62, resident of Fargo, ND passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo. 

Hal was born December 11, 1955 in McVille, ND the son of Henry and Edna (Loe) Ensrud.  He grew up and attended school in McVille, graduating in 1974.  Hal received his Master’s degree from the School of Pharmacy at NDSU.  His career started in Wisconsin with Osco Drug and after 33 years he retired in Iowa from the same company, currently called CVS Health.  Hal moved to Fargo following his retirement.

Hal enjoyed walking his rescue dog Paco and following baseball, especially the Tigers and Red Hawks.  He was an avid reader and had an extensive collection of books.  Family was very important to Hal as he always looked forward to the next family gathering.

Hal will be missed and remembered by his brother Thomas (Marlene) Ensrud of Fargo, ND, nieces Marti (Michael) Hurley of Elk River, MN and Jodi (Cris) Somerville of Cooperstown, ND; 5 great nieces and nephews Morgan, Alicia, Faith, Jake and Ellie, several cousins and his faithful rescue dog Paco.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents and sister Roberta Jean.          

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND.  Fellowship and lunch will immediately follow in the West Funeral Home Reception Hall.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to 4 Luv of Dogs Rescue in Fargo and Nelson County Health System in McVille.  Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille and the West Funeral Home of West Fargo.
