Mary Lou Anderson

Mary Lou Anderson, age 86, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND.

Mary Lou Andrews was born April 5, 1931 in Petersburg, ND, the daughter of William and Julia (Forbes) Andrews. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1949. Mary Lou married Kenneth Anderson on September 8, 1950. They lived in Alabama while Kenny served in the military, then returned to the Mapes area where they farmed. Mary Lou worked as a Homemaker Home Health Aide through social services for 25 years.

She is survived by her children, Allan (Deb) of Michigan, ND, Sandy (Mike) Swanson of Grand Forks, Bob of Michigan, ND, and Tom (Susan) of Lakota; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Genevieve Pershke, Judy Johnson, and Dick Andrews; sisters-in-law, Gloria Andrews, Lenore Andrews, and Rosie Anderson; along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter & son-in-law, Kay & Bob Shirek; grandson, John Swanson; her parents; and 4 brothers.

Mary Lou’s Memorial Service will be held at the Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Michigan Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Tuesday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
