Cecil Ophaug Loe was born September 5, 1916, in Field Township, Nelson County, North Dakota. Cecil, our families’ prayer warrior, surrounded by her family, passed away at the age of 102 years on June 26th, 2019 at the Nelson County Health System Care Center.
Cecil grew up in rural McVille with her parents and 9 siblings. She loved to share stories about how much fun she had with her family. She was very proud of graduating from McVille High school in 1934. She married Jim Loe, March 30th in 1935. Cecil was an active partner during their farming years.
Cecil will be deeply missed by her children, Annette (Dennis) Rorvig, Don (Judy) Loe and Rob (Linda) Loe; her grandchildren, Dean Rorvig, Dan (Teresa) Rorvig, Carla (Andrew) Milliard; Jim (Debra)Loe, Heidi (Ted) Setterlund; Jennifer (Kevin) Gall, Erik (Sara) Loe and Andrea (Neil) Loe-Obringer.
Cecil’s great-grandchildren are Amy (Taryl) Smith, Scott Rorvig; Justin and Brody Milliard; Vanessa, Erica and Evan Loe; Sam, Charley and Frankie Setterlund; Payton, Ethan and Preston Gall; Marissa and Mya Loe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by her husband Jim; brothers Oswald, Rudy, Elmer, Leonard and Merle; sisters Cora, Thelma, Ruth and Mable; grandson Nathan Loe.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17th, 2019, 11:00am at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin. A visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service. Memorials can be given to Nelson County Health System Foundation and Sheyenne Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
