Vincent
Edward Haugo, age 86, resident of Aneta, ND passed away
Sunday, June 15, 2008 under the caring staff of the
Cooperstown Medical Center – Hospital in Cooperstown
after a courageous battle with cancer.
Vincent
was born January 10, 1922 in Havre, MT to Ed and Signe
Haugo. The family then moved to a farmstead in Lenora
Township in North Dakota a few years later. In 1948
Vincent was united in marriage to Alice Hegna who was
from Lenora Township. Together they had 5 children.
Vincent was an avid salesman who started Aneta Motors
where he sold implement farm machinery and cars. Vincent
enjoyed meeting and talking with people, he had a unique
talent of being able to remember people from past generations.
Vincent went on to farm with his sons, David and Perry
Haugo at the farmstead located in Pilot Mound Township
in 1956 where he remained until his death.
Vincent
is survived by his wife Alice of Aneta, ND; children
David and Perry Haugo of Aneta, ND and Bonnie Haugo
of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren Heidi and Christine,
4 great grandchildren and 2 sisters Thora Sassor and
Margaret (Sid) Sotvik.
Vincent
is preceded in death by his parents, infant son Vincent,
Jr., daughter Dee Haugo and 3 brothers.
Funeral
services will be Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM
in the Sundahl Lutheran Church in Aneta, ND. Visitation
will be Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 4 PM to 7 PM in
the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND and continue
one hour prior to services in the church. Interment
will be in the Ottawa Church Cemetery, rural Aneta,
ND.
