Olaf Trygve Rorvig

Trygve Rorvig, age 97, resident of McVille, ND, formerly of Binford, ND, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Nelson County Health System Hospital in McVille.

Olaf Trygve Rorvig was born October 25, 1909 in Willow Township of Griggs County, ND, the son of Matt and Jenny (Myhre) Rorvig. He was raised on his parents farm and attended the township school. Upon completing his education, Trygve began farming with his parents and siblings, Clara, Ernest, and Martin. He farmed and raised livestock all of his life in the Binford area. He particularly enjoyed raising hogs. In 1985 he retired from farming and moved into Binford. In June of 1994 he became a resident of the Care Center in McVille. He loved to visit and will be missed by all who knew him.

Trygve is survived by 2 nieces, Jane Hartwig of Chicago, IL, and Audrey Larson of Coon Rapids, MN; 2 nephews, Dennis Rorvig of McVille, ND, and Bruce Rorvig of Kalispell, MT; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Clara, Jennette, and Magda; and 4 brothers, Anton, Ernest, Martin, and Wendell.

Trygve's Funeral Service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Binford on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Jessica Merchant and Reverend Lynn Kinneberg. The organist will be Theresa Fiebiger, and the soloist will be Paul Odden, accompanied by Margaret Johnson. Interment will be in the Binford Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dennis Rorvig, Dan Rorvig, Sherman Rorvig, Rob Loe, Warren Southward, and Mark Willows. Visitation will be held at the church tomorrow, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
