Truvaine
Syverson, age 75, died of natural causes on March 6,
2010 at his home in rural Aneta, ND. Truvaine was born
September 6, 1934 in Grand Forks, ND to Trygve and Johanna
(Jerdine) Syverson and grew up in rural Reynolds on
a family farm. After graduating from Reynolds in 1953,
he farmed with his parents. On June 30, 1956; he married
Carol Holien of Thompson, ND. In 1960, they moved to
rural Aneta to start their own farm, where they raised
small grains, turkeys and beef cattle while working
at American Crystal in East Grand Forks for 13 years.
In 1970, he built a dairy barn with Sandford Hoge and
Allen Hillesland. Truvaine was not afraid to try new
ventures. He was the first to raise sunflowers, edible
beans and buffalo in the Aneta area. Truvaine and Carol
were members of Sundahl Lutheran Church where he served
on the church council. He gave his time in the community
by serving at the Annual Turkey BBQ, driving school
bus and was a 4-H leader. He served on the Ora Township
board and Aneta Farmers Union Elevator and dedicated
his time and devotion to the Development of the Rural
Water by serving 24 years on the Dakota Water Board.
During his winter months, Truvaine enjoyed working in
the shop restoring tractors and cars and at times helping
his sons and grandsons with different projects.
Truvaine
will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol of 53 years;
sons, Kim of Aneta, ND, Scott (Sonya) of Aneta, ND and
Jeff (Rachel) of Reynolds, ND; grandchildren, Cole,
Joey, McKenzie, Courtney, Tyler, Nicole, Jake, Savannah,
Brook, Garrett, Wyatt and great-grandson, Jesse; three
sisters, Joanne (Ron) Rudrud of Minneapolis, MN, Twyla
Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, and Phyllis (Cliff) Knutson
of Fergus Falls, MN;
two sister-in-laws, Clara Syverson of Grand Forks, ND
and Yvonne Syverson of Reynolds, ND.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Calvery
James, 2 brothers, Orion and Darrell Syverson and 1
brother-in-law, Richard Johnson.
Memorial
services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, 2:00
PM at Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta, ND. Visitation
will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment
will be in the spring in Silent Hill Cemetery, Rural
Aneta.
