Solveig
Bina, 93, of Tolna, ND peacefully passed away Friday,
February 18, 2011 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Solveig
Bjornstad was born December 13, 1917 in Vesta Township
near Adams, ND. She was raised on a farm near Adams
and attended the Hoff School. She married Ed Bina, October
of 1936 and the couple raised four children. Ed and
Solveig spent most of their working years in Pekin,
ND where Ed managed an elevator. Ed passed away in 1968.
Solveig was an active church member. Her greatest joy
was her family whom she loved unconditionally. She loved
to dance and was a great cook. Solveig married Les Henningsgard
in 1972. Solveig was a resident of the Nelson County
Care Center for the past five years.
Solveig
will be missed by her children, Bev Engen, Judy (Don)
Loe and David (Deb) Bina; daughter-in-law Betty Ann
Bina; nine grandchildren, Darrel Bina, Elizabeth (Clarke)
Molter, Edward (Tracy) Bina, Robert (Vicky) Engen, Steven
(Andrea) Engen, James (Deb) Loe, Heidi (Ted) Setterlund,
Davy (Kathy) Bina and Jennifer (Del Gallagher) Bina;
23 great grandchildren, Bianca, Haley, Noah, Ben, Cole,
Joseph, Alison, Stephanie, Jacob, Jeremy, Karly, Adam,
Lindsay, Marlee, Tory, Samantha, Kasey, Vanessa, Erica,
Evan, Sam, Charley and Frankie; six great-great grandchildren,
Jesse, Ryleigh, Cadence, Justin, Rowdy and Sy; sister-in-law
Frances Bina.
Solveig
was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Sena
Bjornstad, husband Ed Bina, son Duane Bina, son-in-law
Tom Engen, great granddaughter Kali Engen and sisters
Margaret Trenda and Norma Gerstner.
Memorial
services for Solveig will be held on Tuesday, February
22, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Pekin Lutheran Church, Pekin,
ND. Officiating will be Pastor Russ Christiansen.
Organist will be Ellen Burthold and soloist will
be Paul Odden. Visitation will be held one hour
prior to services in the church. Spring interment will
be in the Pekin Cemetery, Pekin, ND. Memorials
are preferred to the Nelson County Health System – Care
Center
or the
Nelson County Historical Society.
