Seymour
Bjorlie, age 88, resident of McVille, ND, formerly of
Pekin, ND, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Nelson
County Health System Care Center in McVille, ND.
Seymour
was born July 29, 1922 in rural Pekin the son of Pedar
and Laura (Quam) Bjorlie. He was baptized and confirmed
at the Sheyenne Lutheran Church where he has been a
life long member. He married Dorothy May Rorvig in Binford
on October 24, 1948. They started milking cows and achieved
the top grade A dairy herd in the state in the 1960's.
He served on the Bergen Township Board, Pekin Co-op
Elevator Board, and the county social service board
of Nelson County. Seymour lived on the farm south of
Pekin until he moved to the Care Center in 2005. During
his retirement Seymour enjoyed woodworking, hunting
and fishing.
Seymour
will be missed and remembered by his wife Dorothy of
McVille, ND; sons Sidney (Dora) of Fort Worth, TX, Russell
(Paula) of Loveland, CO and Drs. Kevin (Selina) of Fargo,
ND; eight grandchildren Andrea, Eric and Stephen in
TX, Tad and Dr. Bo (Kayte) in CO and Kayla, Tanner and
Mason in ND; nine great grandchildren; brother Elmer
(Brenda) of Pekin, ND; along with many nieces and nephews.
Seymour
was preceded in death by his parents and brother Arnold.
Memorial
services for Seymour will be Tuesday, November 30, 2010
at 11:00 AM in the Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin,
ND. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Kinneberg.
Organist will be Betty Bina. Special music
will be Paul Odden and Louann Brooks. Interment
will be in the Sheyenne Church Cemetery. Arrangements
with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille.
