Roberta Baumann, age 56, resident of Thief River Falls, MN died Friday, July 1, 2011 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND .

Roberta Leigh Olson was born July 13, 1954 in Northwood, ND, the daughter of Johnny and Odella (Berg) Olson. She grew up on her parent's farm in Field Township , later moving to McVille with family. Roberta was a graduate of McVille High School in 1973. Following graduation she worked as a nursing assistant in McVille, ND. In 1976 Roberta married Michael Baumann. They moved several times with Mike's work, finally settling in Thief River Falls in 1983.

Roberta spent much of her time volunteering. You would often find her at the Senior Center doing whatever she could; she was a dedicated Boy's Scout supporter & den mother; and she also took in stray animals until they were adopted for the Humane Society. Roberta also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and most recently found the love for hunting.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Michael Baumann of Thief River Falls; son, Michael Sean (Sarah) Baumann and grand daughter, Madeline Baumann of Basehar, Kansas; 2 sisters, Joanne Brennan of McVille and Dianne (Richard) Urvand of McVille; 1 brother, Norris (Corrina) Olson of McVille; 1 uncle, Karl Berg of Bismarck, ND; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special niece & nephews, Dominik, Morea & Brandon.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Louise Olson and Joyce Aaser; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Leila Baumann.

The Funeral Service for Roberta will be Friday, July 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday July 8, 2011 and continue until service time in the church. Interment will be in the Our Saviors Church Cemetery, rural Kloten, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used for purchase of a grave marker.
