Reuben O. Dakken, age 87, resident of Aneta Parkview since April 2011, formerly of Tolna, ND died November 14, 2011 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND.

Reuben O. Dakken was born July 31, 1924 in Forde Township, rural Tolna, ND. He was the son of Gilbert and Ida (Thorson) Dakken. Reuben married Doris Anderson July 6, 1953. He worked for Farmers Union Oil Company in Tolna, Grand Forks, ND and McVille, ND. Reuben enjoyed fishing and was the first one on the ice and the last one off the ice most winters. He liked to mow the yard and work on the mower. He also liked to watch his great nephew's (Devin Fitcher) sporting events.

Reuben is survived by his wife Doris Dakken of Tolna; son Ronald Dakken of Tolna; sister-in-law Betty Dakken of Tolna; his pride and joy Dana and Devin Fitcher; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Reuben was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kermit Dakken; 5 sisters Mildred Jacobson, Sally Eykyn, Myra Schindele, Idella Tweed, and Evelyn Dakken.

Memorial services for Reuben will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the American Lutheran Church of Tolna, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Bergen Cemetery, rural Tolna, ND.
