Orel S. Bjorlie, age 95, resident of McVille, ND, formerly of Pekin, ND, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille.

Orel Stanley Bjorlie was born April 9, 1915 on his parent's farm near Pekin, the son of Olaf and Louise (Enstad) Bjorlie. He was baptized and was confirmed with the last class at Sheyenne Lutheran Church to be spoken in Norwegian. He attended the Bergen Township School and was a graduate of Pekin High School. Orel married Myrtle Delfs on June 1, 1947 at McHenry, ND. They lived on and operated the family farm near Pekin . They moved to McVille in 1993. Myrtle died December 15, 2005 . Orel continued living on his own until he moved to the care center in August of 2008. Throughout his life Orel loved farming, the outdoors and animals. His interests included cars, playing cards and socializing, as he loved visiting with people. He especially loved and was proud of his family.

Orel will be greatly missed by his children, Richard Bjorlie of San Antonio, TX and Ruth (David) Sundlie of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Susan Sundlie of Minneapolis , MN and John Sundlie of Fargo, ND; his brother, Kermit (Ruth) Bjorlie of Zumbrota, MN; his sister, Helen Karmgard of Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle; and daughter-in-law, Jan Johnson.
