Mildred "Millie" Hansing, age 93, of McVille, ND formerly of Tolna, ND died October 25, 2011 at the Nelson County Health Systems Care Center in McVille.

Mildred Luehring was born on August 26, 1918 in Dupage County, IL, the daughter of Fred and Alma (Klipp) Luehring.   Mildred married Harold Hansing on February 22, 1941 at Ontarioville, IL. The couple lived in the Elgin, IL area until moving to Tolna in 1955. Mildred worked at the watch factory while living in Illinois, and as a telephone operator while in Tolna. Her love of children kept her busy with providing daycare to local families. She always had a smile and gentle laugh, and made the best molasses cookies around.

Mildred is survived by her granddaughter Penny Goplen of Fargo, ND; grandson Steven Goplen of Breckenridge, MN; great grandson Benson of Breckenridge, MN; brothers Harvey (Maxine) Luehring of St. Paul, MN, Edgar Luehring of Tolna, ND, Howard (Marlene) Luehring of Tolna, ND, and Wayne (Dorothy) Luehring of Lakota, ND; brother-in-law Roland Hansing of Illinois; son-in-law Marvin Goplen of Binford, ND; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; daughter Alice May Goplen; son Gary Hansing; infant daughter Esther May; sisters Gladys Van Acker and Alice Risinger; and brother Willard Luehring.

Memorial services for Mildred will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the American Lutheran Church of Tolna, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Tolna Cemetery.
