Marvin
E. Arlien, age 67, resident of Wannaska, MN, formerly
of Pekin, ND, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at St.
Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
Marvin
Edward Arlien was born August 7, 1941 at McVille, ND,
the son of Edward and Margit (Hegvick) Arlien. He grew
up on the family farm outside of Pekin and attended
rural country school there. He graduated from Kloten
High School in 1959. Marvin then farmed on the family
farm until 1988. He worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad,
MN for several years before retiring in 2004 due to
poor health.
He
enjoyed driving around and looking at farmland, collecting
model cars and tractors, and spending time with extended
family members and friends.
Survivors
include his two daughters, Michelle (Daryl) Eberhardt
of Wahpeton, ND and Margaret Hoffman of Topeka, KS;
one son, Matt (Kristin) of Fargo, ND; one sister, Glenna
(Gary) Rothfusz of Ashley, ND; two brothers, Dwight
(Carol) Arlien of Roosevelt, MN and Verne (Marlys) Arlien
of Ashley, ND; four grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
Marvin's
Funeral Service will be held at the Sheyenne Lutheran
Church, rural Pekin, ND, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008
at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend David
Nichols. The organist will be Betty Bina. Interment
will be in the Sheyenne Church Cemetery. Casketbearers
will be Jeff Arlien, Josh Arlien, Jesse Kaseman, Kurt
Praska, Craig Rothfusz, and Connley Anderson. Visitation
will be held at the church on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m.
until the time of service.
