Marjorie
Mae (Sutton) Knutson passed away at the Nelson County Health
Care Center, McVille,
North Dakota
on October 18, 2007
under the care of Hospice.
Marjorie
was born on December 1, 1911 to Asher and Edith (Swancutt)
Sutton of rural McVille. She attended and graduated from McVille
High School . On September 20, 1933 Marjorie married Roy M.
Knutson and lived in McVille until 1941 when they rented the
Annie Helgeson farm. In 1946 they purchased the Roy Johnson
farm where they lived and farmed until their retirement in
1974 when they moved to McVille.
Roy
passed away April 9, 1987. Marjorie continued to reside in
McVille until she entered the Nelson County Health Care Center
in April, 2000. Marjorie was a member of the Center Lutheran
Church, an active member of Center Ladies Aid and a long time
dedicated Sunday School teacher.
An
important part of Marjorie and Roy's life was raising their
two beloved nephews Norris and Darrell Knutson during the
early years of their childhood.
Marjorie
is survived by a sister, Gladys Sears of Minneapolis,
MN and several
nieces and nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her
parents Edith and Asher Sutton; brothers Merle & Sydney
; sisters Evelyn, Edith Ann, Dorothy
and Vivian.
The
family expresses its appreciation to all who have shared in
Marjorie's life. Her family would especially like to express
our gratitude to the staff and caregivers of the Nelson County
Health Center whose professional and personal care has been
truly loving and heartfelt.
The
Funeral Service for Marjorie will be held at the McVille Lutheran
Church on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Interment
will be in the Center Lutheran Cemetery, rural McVille. Visitation
will be held at the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille
on Tuesday, from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and will continue
at the church on Wednesday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time
of service.
