Margit Lee, age 85, resident of Aneta , ND passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood , ND .

Margit was born May 13, 1922 in Lom, Gudbransdalen , Norway to Per and Ingeborg Skjerpingstad. She was married to Johannes “John O. Lee” Sveine in the Lom Stave Church, Norway; where she was also baptized and confirmed. They moved to America in 1949 and settled in Pilot Mound Township in the Sheyenne River Valley. The Lee family moved to rural Aneta in the fall of 1954. Margit spent her life as a farmer's wife and mother raising her six children, milking cows, raising turkeys and whatever was required of her. In 1977 the couple moved into Aneta. John passed away August 20, 1989 . Margit was able to return to Norway several times in her life, the final trip being just this past June. She was a member of Sundahl Lutheran Church , an avid lefse maker and an excellent knitter. She will forever be remembered for her Norwegian sweaters.

Margit will be deeply missed and remembered by her children, Per (Cynthia) Lee of Hermon, ME, Mary (Pete) Wall of Sharon, ND, Arnold (Lucy Morth) Lee of Aneta, ND, Gene (Heidi) Lee of Dickinson, ND, and Bobby (Sheri) Lee of Sharon, ND; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces in Norway; brothers Lars, Johannes, and Ragnar; sisters Live, Ragnhild and Anna, also in Norway.

Margit was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Jerry; daughter-in-law

Betty Lee; brother Olav and sister Olga.

Funeral services for Margit will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Sundahl Lutheran Church of Aneta, ND. Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2008 from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM family service in the Sundahl Lutheran Church of Aneta, ND.  Officiating will be the Reverend Kenneth Iverson.  Casketbearers will be Margit's grandchildren; Margit Tripp, Julie Halter, Kristi Wall, Leif Wall, Michael A. Lee, Michael J. Lee, Melissa Kueber, Marcus Lee, Thomas Lee, Dana Lee, Madison Lee, Jessica Lee and John Lee.  Special music will be by Pastor Vicki Saude.  Interment will be in the Silent Hill Cemetery , rural Aneta , ND .
