Lloyd Victor Reiten, age 83, resident of Grand Forks , ND , formerly McVille , ND passed away peacefully at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Sunday, September 16, 2007 surrounded by his family.

Victor was born September 25, 1923 to parents Iver and Anna (Loken) Reiten in Petersburg , ND . After graduating from high school, he went to Seattle , WA where he worked in the naval ship yards. Upon returning he went into business with his brother Irwin "Fish" Reiten at Reiten Implement Company which sold Case and International Harvester farm equipment. At this time Victor became active in farming. He married Elsie Patricia Young of Michigan , ND on November 15, 1947 in Kewanee , IL . After their marriage they resided in Petersburg . In 1955 Victor purchased the International dealership in McVille , ND where he owned and operated Reiten Farm Supply. In 1968 he purchased the IHC dealership in Sharon , ND . In 1978 Victor and his brother-in-law Dennis W. Young purchased Joe Raymond Inc. in Grand Forks and renamed it Reiten & Young International Inc. where it is in operation today. Victor was very active in the McVille community. He was the mayor of McVille for many years, he was president of the McVille Commercial Club, president of McVille Development Corp., was on the McVille Hospital Board and president of Dakota Health Corp., served on the church council and liquor commission. He was a director on the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association. Victor was 2 years past master of Euclid Lodge Masons in Lakota, ND and belonged to the Kem Temple Shriners of Grand Forks , ND .

Victor will be deeply missed and remembered by his wife Patsy of Grand Forks, ND. Daughter Elizabeth Ann (Frank) Thorngren of Hettinger , ND . Sons; Douglas Lloyd (Norene) Reiten of Grand Forks, ND, Neil Victor (Stacey) Reiten of Petersburg, ND and Dennis Iver Reiten of Grand Forks, ND. Grandchildren; Andrea (Jason) Murphy, Troy (Julie) Reiten, Derek Dunlop, Tyler Dunlop, Jarrod Cone, Taylor Reiten, Victoria Reiten and Valerie Reiten. Sister Lorayne "Lolly" ( Alvin ) Baldus of Menomonie , WI .

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Irwin "Fish", Harold, Einer "Pat" and Arland "Polly". Sisters; Hjordis Ellertson, Eleanor Clink and Dagny Newgard.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Petersburg Lutheran Church of Petersburg, ND.  Officiating will be Reverend Gary Knabe.  Special music will be performed by Jason Flom.  Casketbearers will be Douglas Reiten, Neil Reiten, Dennis Reiten, Elizabeth Reiten, Troy Reiten, Andrea Murphy, Derek Dunlop & Tyler Dunlop.  Honorary casketbearers will be Jim Weber, Gerald & Loy Stutrud, Torkel Nilson, Nels & Carol Loiland, Allen Young, Dennis Young, and Mike & Jill Weisenburger.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from 3PM to 7PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home with a family service at 7:00 PM . Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be in the Petersburg Cemetery . Memorials preferred to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
