Lila R. Hermanson, age 86, resident of McVille, ND, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Nelson County Health System Hospital in McVille.

Lila Ruth Anderson was born October 22, 1922 near Tolna, ND, the daughter of Carl Adolph and Bella (Ensrud) Anderson. She was raised on her parents farm near Tolna and attended the township school in the area. Lila married Glenn P. Hermanson on August 1, 1943 in Wichita Falls, TX. In 1945 they began farming near Pekin, ND. Lila began working in the laundry department at the care center in McVille. In the 1950's they lived and farmed near Mapes, ND. They moved to McVille in 1960. Lila retired from the care center after working there for over 35 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at McVille and was an active member of the McVille Lutheran Church. She became a resident of the care center in March of 2003. Glenn died March 15, 2005.

Lila will be missed by her 4 sons, Gary (Del) Hermanson of Mesa, AZ, Ardell (Donna) Hermanson of Grafton, ND, Dean (Cathy) Hermanson of Scottsdale, AZ, and Merlyn (Corene) Hermanson of Danville, VA; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and her sister, Viola Flaagan of McVille.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her 2 sisters, Aleda Snortland and Agnes Blankenship, and her brother Raleigh Anderson.

Lila's Funeral Service will be held at McVille Lutheran Church on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the McVille Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
