Leo Kurtyka, age 85, of McVille, ND, formerly of Manvel, ND died November 17, 2011 at the Nelson County Health Systems Care Center in McVille.

Leo was born April 22, 1926 in Johnstown, ND the son of Louis and Gertrude (Paulson) Kurtyka.  He was educated at country school and 1 year in the Manvel School.  He spent time working on the farm and did many other kinds of work.  In later life Leo was a resident of St. Anne's Guest Home in Grand Forks, ND, Lakota Good Samaritan Center in Lakota, ND and the Nelson County Health Systems Care Center in McVille.

Leo is survived by his sisters Lorraine Ann (Keith) Leeson of Ardoch, ND and Leatrice Erlander of Altadena, CA.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents and brother LeRoy Kurtyka.

A graveside service for Leo will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Big Woods Cemetery of rural Oslo, MN.
