Justin Rude, age 84, resident of Tolna, ND, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille, ND.

Justin was born October 22, 1925 in rural Hamar, ND to Herbert and Caroline Christenson Rude. He grew up and attended school near Hamar and was baptized and confirmed at Sigdal Lutheran Church, rural Tolna, ND. Justin entered the Navy in 1944 and served in the pacific in WWII. He returned home and married Sylvia Moen on November 22, 1947 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake, ND by Rev. E. L. Rude. He then farmed for most of his life near Hamar.

Justin enjoyed farming and working on various projects in the garage. He was very handy.

Justin will be missed and remembered by his wife Sylvia of McVille, ND; 3 sons, Glenn (Deb) Rude of Tolna, ND; Duane Rude of Tolna, ND, and Marlin Rude of Devils Lake, ND; 2 grandchildren, Andy Rude of Hankinson, ND and Samantha Rude of Devils Lake, ND; 2 step grandchildren, Deena Werlinger of Garden City, KS and Michael Werlinger of Norfolk, NE.

Justin was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Justin will be Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Sigdal Lutheran Church, rural Tolna, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5 to 7 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND and one hour prior to services at the church. Military honors provided by American Legion Post 162 of Tolna, ND. Interment will be in the Sigdal Church Cemetery
