Jerome J. Hofer, age 76, resident of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Michigan, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Evergreen Nursing Center in Greensboro, NC, with his sister Kathleen at his side.

Jerome John Hofer was born April 10, 1932 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Stephen and Elsie (Theisen) Hofer. He graduated from Michigan High School and Dakota Business College in Fargo. After his service in the U.S. Army he was employed by FAA Western Federal Credit Union in Los Angeles, CA as an accountant. He has lived in North Carolina for the past 15 years and most recently a resident of Heritage Greens in Greensboro, NC.

Jerome is survived by his sister, Sister Kathleen Hofer of Duluth, MN, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Elsie Hofer; and an infant sister, Dorothy Mae Hofer.

The Funeral Mass for Jerome will be held at St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church of Michigan, ND, on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Celebrating the Mass will be the Very Rev. Fr. Scott Sautner. Music will be provided by the St. Lawrence O'Toole Church Choir, accompanied by Dolly Devlin. Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
