Hannah
Quanbeck, age 73, resident of McVille, ND, died Friday,
December 11, 2009 at the Nelson County Health System
Hospital in McVille.
Hannah
Emma Katherine Aamodt was born June 17, 1936 at McVille,
the daughter of John and Emma (Helgeland) Aamodt. She
attended township schools near Pekin, ND; 1 year of
high school in Minot at Dakota Lutheran High School;
then attended Oak Grove High School in Fargo, where
she graduated in 1955. She then enrolled at the Lutheran
Bible Institute in Minneapolis. Hannah married Lee Quanbeck
on September 28, 1957 at Sigdal Lutheran Church near
Tolna. They farmed all of their lives together and raised
their family on the Quanbeck family farm near McVille.
Lee died April 16, 2001. Hannah continued living on
the family farm. She was an active member of New Luther
Valley Lutheran Church where she had been a member all
of her adult life.
Hannah
will be deeply missed by her 2 sons, Roger Quanbeck
& his wife Ruth of Cavalier, ND and Keith Quanbeck
of Minneapolis, MN; 2 daughters, Kathryn & her husband
Tim Winkelman of Woodbury, MN and Ruth & her husband
Paul Kneeland of Tucson, AZ; 1 foster daughter, Corless
(Haugland) Apperson of Mill Creek, WA; 9 grandchildren,
Tressa Quanbeck, Stephen Quanbeck, Carissa Quanbeck,
Rachel Quanbeck, Hanna Winkelman, Karina Winkelman,
Andrew Kneeland, Alisha Kneeland, and Carter Kneeland;
1 brother-in-law, Kent (Mabel) Quanbeck of McVille;
2 sisters-in-law, Ardis (Gordon) Twedt of McHenry, ND,
and Charlotte (the late Marvin) Quanbeck of McVille;
and several nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lee.
Hannah's
Funeral Service will be held at New Luther Valley Lutheran
Church of McVille, ND, on Wednesday, December 16, 2009
at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Lynn
Kinneberg. Interment will be in the New Luther Valley
Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Stanley-Iverson
Funeral Home of McVille on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until
5:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Tuesday
beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00
p.m.
