Gina Marie (Thompson) Hatlestad, age 87, of McVille, ND died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Nelson County Health System Care Center in McVille.

Gina was born in rural Kloten, Field Township on April 13, 1924 to Gilbert and Marith (Amundson) Thompson. She was one of six children. She attended school in Kloten, graduating in 1942. She married Edmund Hatlestad July 31, 1944 in Gainesville, TX. She was a mother of six children. She worked as a nurse's aide for 10 years, cooked in cafés, steakhouses and the school lunch program. In 1974 she went to beauty school at Josef's School of Hair Design in Minot, ND. She graduated in 1975 and went to work for Hedstrom's Beauty Salon in Tolna, ND. In 1980 the family moved to Amorita , OK where she had her own shop. She also was an outreach worker for the seniors in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma.

Gina is survived by her six children; Dennis (Margaret) of Burlington, OK, James (Charlotte) of Tolna, ND, Glen (Arles) of Westhope, ND, Roger (JoAnn) of Alva, OK, Marilee (Ron) Hosman of Devils Lake, ND and Brian(Jeanette) of Glendale, AZ. 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; 2 sisters Edith Johnson of McVille, ND and Ethel (Les) Brooks of Kloten, ND; 1 brother Allyn (Lori) Thompson of Grand Forks, ND.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, brother Alvin, sister Hazel, grandson Roger Pershke, Jr., son-in-law Roger Pershke, Sr., brother-in-law Lawrence Johnson, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Funeral services for Gina will be Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00AM in New Luther Valley Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 3 PM to 7 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND and continue one hour prior to services in the church. Honor Guard provided by the McVille American Legion Auxiliary, Ole Semling Unit #135. Interment will be in the Valley Grove Church Cemetery, rural Kloten, ND. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille.
