Esther Kueber, age 81, resident of Aneta , ND , passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta.

Esther was born November 3, 1927 in Rugh Township , rural Aneta the daughter of Sigurd and Marie (Norjordet) Sotvik. She was baptized and confirmed in Logan Lutheran Church , rural Aneta. She taught rural school at Rugh Township for 5 years. Esther was united in marriage to Bernard “Sunny” Kueber on November 21, 1951 at Hope , ND . They were lifelong farmers and residents of Rugh Township and Aneta , ND . She was a teacher's aid at Aneta School for 2 years, worked in the Aneta City Café for 10 years and worked at Aneta Parkview for 25 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta. Esther's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Esther is survived by her 4 sons, Mark (Barb) of Grand Forks, ND, Greg (Janis) of Aneta, ND, Mike (Debbie) of San Antonio, TX and Kelly of Grand Forks, ND; 10 grandchildren, Bobby, Mikey, Tommy, Jimmy, Nicole, Tiffany, Mark S., Kylie, Gus and Eli; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother Sidney (Margaret) Sotvik of Aneta, ND; 3 sisters, Borghild Bothen of Aneta, ND, Helga Retzlaff of Aneta, ND and Marlys (Richard) Kueber of Crystal Lake, IL.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Marcus and granddaughter Kayla.

Funeral services for Esther will be Monday, January 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta , ND . Officiating will be Father Richard M. Fineo. Organist will be Craig Silvernagel and soloist will be Kim Smaaladen. Casketbearers will be Kelly Kueber, Bobby Kueber, Mikey Kueber, Tommy Kueber, Jimmy Kueber, Mark S. Kueber, Gus Kueber and Eli Kueber. Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta , ND from 4 PM to 6 PM with a vigil service at 6 PM . Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery , Aneta , ND . Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND.
