Edna J. Ensrud, age 84, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly McVille, ND, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Edna was born December 4, 1923 in Epping, ND, the daughter of Ed Willy and Julia Amanda (Forde) Loe. She grew up and was educated in Pekin, ND, graduating from Pekin High School. On November 25, 1943 she married Henry Ensrud in Pekin. Edna worked as a nurse's aide at the McVille Community Hospital and as a grocery store clerk for Super Valu in McVille. They spent the majority of their life in the Pekin and McVille area. Henry passed away May 20, 2003. Edna enjoyed playing cards, cooking and loved to spend time with her family.

She will be missed and remembered by her 2 sons, Thomas (Marlene) Ensrud of West Fargo, ND and Hal Ensrud of Iowa City, IA; 2 granddaughters; Marti (Michael) Hurley of Elk River, MN and Jodi (Cris) Somerville of Cooperstown, ND; 4 great grandchildren, Alicia, Morgan, Faith and Jake.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Roberta Jean, 6 sisters, Louise, Estella, Lorraine, Viola, Helen and LaMay, along with 3 brothers, Lorraine Orville, Everett Julian and Oscar Jerome.

Funeral services for Edna will be Friday, March 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND.  Officiating will be Reverend Marli Danielson.  Special music will be performed by Paul Odden.  Organist will be Kay Moon.  Casketbearers will be Jim Marback, Wayne Ressler, Rob Loe, Bud Loe, Fred VanKrevelen, Don Stenslie and Ross Ensrud.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 4 PM to 7 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille and continue one hour prior to services in the church. Spring Interment will be in the McVille Cemetery.
