Edna Bernice Eversvik, 89, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 in Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND.

Edna was born October 1, 1920 to Ole and Minnie (Knutson) Almaas near Kloten, ND. She attended schools at Kloten and Nesheim Township. She attended Oak Grove High School, Fargo, and graduated from Kloten High School in 1938. She attended Mayville State College and taught in country schools for several years.

She married Albin Eversvik on November 22, 1945 at McVille, ND. They resided in this community for most of their married life. They spent 3 ½ years at Wahpeton, ND when Albin was rural mail carrier at Breckenridge, MN. Edna moved to Bethany Homes, Fargo, in 2008.

Edna worked at the McVille Healthcare Center and the Good Samaritan Center, Aneta, ND. She was a lifelong member of New Luther Valley Church, McVille, where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the ladies aid.

Edna is survived by three daughters, Eileen (Charley) Chamberlain, Fargo, ND; Lois (Paul) Persson, Portage, WI; Marilyn (David) Simonson, Faribault, MN; 8 grandchildren, David (Barb) Chamberlain; Mark (Kristen) Chamberlain, Karina Persson, Dave Persson, Jenna (Tino) Garcia, Katie (Casey) Bickley, Paul Simonson, Nora Simonson; 1 great-granddaughter, Harper Chamberlain; sister, Hazel Dokken; sister-in-law, Leonore Eversvik.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albin; and sisters, Myrtle Almaas and Geneva Eliason.

Funeral services for Edna will be Friday, May 28, 2010 at 2 PM in the New Luther Valley Church of McVille, ND. Visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2010 from 12 PM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in the New Luther Valley Church Cemetery.
