Doris Marie Taylor, age 85, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Nelson County Health System - Hospital in McVille, ND.  Doris had been a resident of the Nelson County Health System - Care Center since November 30, 2006. 

Doris was born to Albert and Tilda Stenslie on March 20, 1924.  She grew up on her parents' farm near Pekin, ND.  Doris graduated from McVille High School and worked most of her adult life in Minneapolis, MN.

Although Doris had no living children, she loved each of her nieces and nephews as she would have her own.  They were her family.  Her great nieces and nephews thought of her as a special grandma.  Doris was tiny in stature, but had a big heart of gold for her family and friends.  If she joked and teased, you knew that she loved you.  Her special cat "Pinky" watched over her, and her roommate Sylvia was a blessing during Doris 's last years at the Nelson County Healthcare System-Care Center.

Doris will be missed and remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Taylor; infant son; brothers, Leonard, Kermit, Albin, and Carl, and sisters Myrtle, Eleanor, and Ruth.

Memorial services for Doris will be Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the McVille Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church.  Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.  Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille.
