Colleen Ione (Erickson) Hanson, age 84, resident of McVille, ND, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at her home in McVille. Colleen was born June 18, 1925 in Nelson County, ND to Ed and Cora ( Anderson ) Erickson. She attended grade school in Center Township and graduated from McVille High School in 1943. She then moved to Bremerton, WA where she worked in the Naval Shipyards. Colleen relocated to Hollywood, CA where she worked for Lockheed Aircraft. In 1951 she married Phillip Scott Wallace, and moved to Pomona, CA. They had two children—Cathleen Doree and Scott Phillip. She worked at California Bank until 1967, when she married Orvin Hanson, and has since resided in McVille, ND. Colleen was a member of the McVille Lutheran Church. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. Through the years she loved to read, knit, golf, dance, and play cards with her friends.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, brothers James and Jean, sister Barbara, and her daughter Cathleen Doree. She is survived by her son Scott of Jamestown, ND, three grandchildren: August of Kansas City, MO, Elspeth and Mora of Grand Forks, ND, son-in-law Mark Fromke of Crookston, MN, one brother Armond (Nancy) Erickson of Fargo, ND, one sister Elaine (Les) Wilson of Aberdeen, SD, one sister-in-law Verla Mae Erickson of McVille, ND, many nieces and nephews, and her very good friend Orvin Hanson.

Memorial services for Colleen will be Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Interment will be in the McVille Cemetery. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home.
