Clayton J. Aaser, 83, of McVille , ND died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks .

Clayton James Aaser was born June 11, 1925 in rural McVille to Louis & Emma (Gustafson) Aaser. On December 5, 1944 Clayton married Amie Flaagan at McVille. He spent his life farming and served on numerous committees and boards in the McVille area. Clayton was president of the McVille School board and was very proud to award two of his children, Robert & Zelda their high school diplomas. Clayton worked at Our Own Hardware in McVille and the ASC office in Lakota. He was a member of the KP Lodge, McVille Fire Department, Elks Club, Eagles Club, Nelson County Historical Society and the McVille Lutheran Church .

Clayton is survived by his wife of 64 years, Amie of McVille. He is also survived by his four children, Roslyn (Richard) Helgeson of Faribault, MN, Robert Aaser of Bullhead City , AZ , Zelda (Duane) Bellefuille of Detroit Lakes, MN and Jackie ( Lynn ) Gudmundson of Clear Lake SD. 3 grandchildren, Joshua Gudmundson of Phoenix, AZ, Dillon Gudmundson of Clear Lake, SD and Angie Monroe of Moorhead, MN. 2 great grandchildren, Meghan Monroe and Justin Monroe, both of Moorhead , MN . One brother Leo (Shirley) of Pelican Rapids, MN.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Deborah, 2 brothers, Mylo and Einor, and one nephew Roger Aaser.

Funeral services for Clayton will be Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the McVille Lutheran Church of McVille.   Officiating will be Reverend Marlie Danielson. Organist will be Linda Loe and soloist will be Paul Odden.  Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2009 from 5 PM to 7:30 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Center Cemetery , rural McVille. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home.
