Charlotte “Todd” Hildre, age 84, resident of McVille , ND passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Nelson County Health System – Hospital in McVille.

Charlotte was born September 29, 1923 in Michigan , ND the daughter of Alvin and Adelaide (Garrison) Thompson. She grew up and attended school in Michigan , graduating from the Michigan High School in 1941. Todd finished her education at the Mayville State Teachers College and began teaching school in Field Township and Nash Township in Nelson County . Todd entered the United States Navy on July 13, 1944 . She served in Hawaii in the hospital corp before being discharged on February 7, 1946 . On January 1, 1947 she married Marvin Hildre. After their marriage the couple lived in Michigan , Fargo and Larimore before making their home in McVille. Todd worked with her husband at the Johnson Store until 1981 and later at the drug store for several years. Todd was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, McVille Lutheran Church & Ladies Aid, served on the hospital board, cemetery board, PTA, and church board.

Todd will be deeply missed and remembered by her husband Marvin of McVille; 3 children, Spencer (Mary) Hildre of Fargo, ND, Scott (Mariam) Hildre of Fargo, ND and Stephanie (David) Sateren of McVille, ND; 7 grandchildren, Charlotte, Scott, Toby, Nathan, Christopher, Joshua and Jessica; 5 great grandchildren, Brook, Jackie, Lucas, Autumn and Isabelle; 1 brother, Dean (Janice) Thompson of Northwood, ND; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Todd was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Margaret Hauge and Delores Weber and 2 brothers, Charles Thompson and Dick Thompson.

Funeral services for Todd will be Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the McVille Lutheran Church . Visitation will be Friday, August 8, 2008 from 4 PM to 7 PM in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home with a 7 PM family service and continue one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the McVille Cemetery . Military Honors by the Ole Semling American Legion Post #135 and the American Legion Auxiliary of McVille , ND . Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to the Nelson County Health System – Hospital and McVille Volunteer Ambulance Fund.
