Bessie
Theressa Huso, age 90, resident of Aneta , ND, died
Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Aneta Parkview Health
Center in Aneta, ND. Bessie was born January 28, 1920
in Barton, ND, the daughter of Bird and Clara (Fluevog)
Saude. She graduated from Barton High School and Jamestown
College. She taught high school mathematics and social
studies for two years in Kulm, ND. On June 20, 1943
she married Herlof Huso. They made their home south
of Aneta in Lenora Township, Griggs County, where they
farmed and raised four children. She taught social studies,
history, and Latin in Aneta, ND. Herlof died July 18,
1996 and Bessie moved into town.
Bessie
was involved with Lenora Homemakers and Civic Club,
and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of Sundahl Lutheran
Church and held offices in church council and Women
of the ELCA. Her pastimes included reading, gardening,
quilting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and traveling
with Herlof. She had a great sense of humor and always
had time for her grandchildren. She moved into the Aneta
Parkview Health Center in September 2008.
Surviving
family members include sons, Don (Joan) Huso of Aneta,
ND and Rev. Paul (Diane) Huso of Rothsay, MN; daughters,
Avis (Paul) McDaniel of Saint Peter, MN and Sandra (David)
Elford of Vancouver, WA; six grandchildren, Mark (Samantha)
Huso, Scott (Elizabeth) Huso, Dan (Tricia) Huso, Sarah
(Ryan) Maddock, Emily (Kris) Kracht, and Erin (DJ) Damberger;
eight great grandchildren; brothers, Jason (Bernice)
Saude of Rugby, ND, Rev. Victor (Gladys) Saude of Northwood,
ND, and Norton Saude of Champlin, MN; sisters, Adella
Williams of Murfreesboro, TN, and Florence (David) Tuff
of Robbinsdale, MN; sister-in-laws, Alpha Voiles of
Aneta, ND, and Faye Huso of Longbeach, CA.
Bessie
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant
daughter, Louise.
Funeral
services for Bessie will be held Monday, February 15,
2010 at 2:00 PM in the Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta,
ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services
at the church. Interment will be in the spring at the
Trinity Cemetery, rural Sharon, ND. Memorials are preferred
to the Aneta Parkview Health Center or Altru Hospice.
