Ida E. Eli, age 87, resident of Glenfield, ND, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND.

Ida Edna Hadey was born January 2, 1923 at Ross, ND, the daughter of Albert and Freida (Hust) Hadey. She was raised and attended school there. She married Hassen Eli Jr. on June 28, 1939 in Glenfield. They lived their entire life on the farm near Glenfield. Hassen died March 30, 1990. Ida enjoyed animals and gardening. She was a member of the Glenfield Lutheran Church and Prairie Faith Lutheran Church of Glenfield.

Ida is survived by her 9 children, Arnold Eli of Washington, Jerome (Sandra) Eli of McHenry, ND, Frances (Dale) Prebe of Janesville, WI, Roger (Pat) Eli of West Fargo, ND, Diane (Kirby) Dahl of Prosper, ND, Kenny (Mary) Eli of Cooperstown, ND, Philip (Donna) Eli of Churchs Ferry, ND, Susan (Mike) Kurtz of Jamestown, ND, and David (Jackie) Eli of Jamestown, ND; 32 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Selma Kadry of Binford, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons, Larry and Rodney; a grandson, Bobby Eli; a sister, Sara Anderson; and her infant triplet brothers.

The Funeral Service for Ida will be held at Prairie Faith Lutheran Church, Glenfield, ND, on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Jeff Kapelle. Music will be provided by Kathy Soma-Gawronski. Interment will be in the Glenfield Cemetery. The casketbearers will be Ida's grandsons and great-grandsons. The honorary bearers will include the staff at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd. Visitation will be held at the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel, Cooperstown, ND, on Wednesday, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
