David Martin
Teske, Cooperstown, ND, passed away at his home on Saturday,
May 2, 2009. Dave was born April 13, 1944 in Steele,
ND. Dave was child number 9 of 10 children of Edward
and Dorothy (Wise) Teske, Steele, ND. He also was a
first born generation American, as his father was born
in Russia, who immigrated to this country with his parents.
Dave was named after his two uncles, David Wise and
Martin Teske.
Dave
was raised in Steele, ND and attended the Steele Public
Schools. He then joined the Air Force and had 1 year
of active military duty. Dave received top rankings
and was also an honor airman in the military. Dave was
married in 1965 and had four children, Valerie (Kelvin)
Thompson, Mandan, ND; Troy (Pam) Teske, Bismarck, ND;
Melissa (Jim) Wetch, Lincoln, ND; Chad Teske, Bismarck,ND.
Dave
drove for Beyer's Cement, Valley City, ND. He began
his over the road truck driving career with Weist Trucking,
Jamestown, ND. Dave also drove for Tri-Line Transportation,
Fargo, ND for 5 years. In 1991 he started with Golden
Ring Trucking, Fergus Falls, MN and worked for them
for 18 years. During his 20+ years in the trucking business,
he traveled in all 48 states, and drove nearly 2 million
miles.
On
May 5, 1984, Dave married Bonnie Fah at Valley City,
ND. Dave was very passionate about his career. He loved
meeting new people and every day was an adventure for
him. Dave was a very caring and loving person. He loved
to spend time fishing with his grandchildren.
Dave
is survived by his wife Bonnie, his four children Valerie,
Troy, Melissa, and Chad, and grandchildren, Hunter,
Wyatt, and Harley Thompson, and Michael Teske. He is
also survived by his step children Tammy (Robert) Gieger,
Cooperstown, ND; Ralph (DeAnna) Fah, Becker, MN; Tanya
(Craig) Scheer, Fisher, MN; Tina (Greg) Frigaard, Dalton,
MN, and his step grandchildren, Brian Fah, Kristen Fah,
Tiffanny Geiger, Ashley Scheer, Carlie Scheer, Bailee
Scheer, Logan Frigaard, and Amber Frigaard. He is also
survived by siblings Leroy Teske, Bismarck, ND; LaVerne
(Ron) Nelson, Fort Worth, TX; Marilyn Bitz, Bismarck,
ND; Geraldine Teske, Fort Worth, TX; and Jim Teske,
Mandan, ND, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who
adored him.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy
Teske, 3 brothers Eddie, Gene, and, Robert Teske, 1
sister Patrica Pratschler, his beloved step-grandson,
Robbie James Geiger, 2 nephews, Rick Bitz, Mike Pratschler,
and brother-in-law Joe Bitz.
Memorial
Services will be held Saturday May 16, 2009 at 2: 00
PM in St. George Catholic Church of Cooperstown.
