Joanne Brekke, age 79, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Cooperstown Medical Center.

Joanne was born June 19, 1930 in Cooperstown, ND the daughter of Adolph and Edna (Johnson) Olson. She attended country school before graduating Cooperstown High School in 1948. She married Sanford Brekke on August 4, 1951 at Hannaford, ND. After their marriage they lived in Cooperstown, ND. Joanne worked as a nurse at the dental office for Dr. Belyea and later Dr. Jackson in Cooperstown. She also spent numerous years as a nurse's aid at the Cooperstown Medical Center. Joanne enjoyed bird watching, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

Joanne is survived by her husband Sanford of Cooperstown, ND and sons Scott (Angel Eid) Brekke of Fargo, ND and Kent Brekke of Jamestown, ND.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Andrea Satrom, 3 brothers Frederick, Richard and Victor.
